The storm is 8 years to the day of the Joplin disaster, which was the deadliest tornado after the St. Louis tornado May 27 1896 where 255 people were killed. The Joplin tornado killed over 150 people. And EF3 tornado tore apart building in the Jefferson City, the capital. Jefferson City damage encompasses a three mile area. The American Red Cross is accepting donations for disaster relief victims. Magellan Health is also providing trauma and fear counseling for victims of the storm.
